{"id":1388,"date":"2025-06-16T00:02:21","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T00:02:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vegacelis.com\/?p=1388"},"modified":"2025-06-20T10:58:23","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T10:58:23","slug":"intel-chief-of-irans-revolutionary-guard-killed-in-israeli-strike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vegacelis.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/16\/intel-chief-of-irans-revolutionary-guard-killed-in-israeli-strike\/","title":{"rendered":"Intel chief of Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guard killed in Israeli strike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tehran announced the deaths of three senior officers on Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"107\" data-end=\"346\">The intelligence chief of Iran&rsquo;s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been killed in an Israeli strike.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"348\" data-end=\"705\">Brigadier General Mohammad Kazemi, head of the IRGC&rsquo;s Intelligence Organization, was assassinated&nbsp;along with two other intelligence officers, Hassan Mohaghdeh and Mohsen Bagheri, the Guards confirmed in a statement on Sunday evening.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"878\">The IRGC said it responded by launching missiles at Israeli <em>&ldquo;intelligence centers&rdquo;<\/em> as part of the third wave of its ongoing barrage, dubbed <em data-start=\"847\" data-end=\"875\">Operation True Promise III<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"1090\">The killing of Kazemi was first announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with <em data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"998\">Fox News<\/em> on Sunday. <em>&ldquo;I think we&rsquo;ve set them back quite a bit,&rdquo;<\/em> Netanyahu told journalist Bret Baier.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"84\" data-end=\"413\">Open hostilities erupted on Friday morning when IDF jets bombed military and nuclear sites across Iran in what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as an operation to prevent&nbsp;the Islamic Republic&nbsp;from acquiring nuclear weapons.
